Built for existing systems, not imaginary blank slates
A lot of development work is not a shiny new build. It is making a real website safer to change, easier to maintain and better for users without breaking the systems around it. That is the kind of work I spend a lot of time doing.

How I approach existing platforms
1. Discuss
We start with what the website needs to achieve, what is getting in the way now and whether the answer is a new build, a focused improvement or a smaller technical fix.
2. Scope
I turn that into a clear technical approach, including priorities and boundaries, before development begins.
3. Build
I develop the agreed work with maintainability, accessibility, performance and the wider user journey in mind.
4. QA
The work is checked across relevant browsers, devices and journeys, with automated testing where it adds value.
5. Launch
Once everything is signed off, the work can go live with a clear record of what changed and what may be worth improving next.
Working with Telford businesses from Oswestry
I’m based in Oswestry and work with businesses across Shropshire, including Telford. Most technical work can be handled remotely, but being within the county means an in-person conversation is possible when a project benefits from getting people around the same table.
A few useful questions
Do you only work with businesses in Telford?
No. I work with businesses throughout Shropshire and remotely with teams across the UK.
Can you improve an existing website instead of rebuilding it?
Absolutely. I can assess what is already working, identify the parts causing friction and improve the current site when that is the better investment.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. Most projects work well remotely, although an in-person conversation is available when it would be useful.
How much does a website cost?
It depends on the size, functionality and whether we are building from scratch or improving an existing site. I scope the work before recommending a cost.
Can you work with my designer or agency?
Yes. I can work directly with your business, alongside a designer, or as development support for an agency or internal team.
What technologies do you work with?
My core work covers modern front-end development and WordPress, including JavaScript, PHP, ACF, Timber and Twig, alongside QA, experimentation and performance work.
